Who: Everyone Who Loves Catching
What: CatcherCON 2022
When: December 2-4
Where: Nashville, TN
I attended my first coaching conference in 2005…that’s 17 years ago, but I remember it like it was yesterday.
As young, excited player (who knew he’d spend his life coaching) I felt like a kid waking up on Christmas morning. But, when I arrived I found out that I only got lumps of coal in my stocking.
I just assumed that the “biggest baseball conference in the world” would have tons of speakers and info about my passion…catching.
“Disappointed” would be an understatement. How can this conference that runs for 4 days only have 2 speakers presenting about catching!?! I’ve always been told, and still believe, that catching is the most important position on the field (minus the pitcher, of course) so I was shocked when I found out that it got the least amount of attention.
The thought instantly crossed my mind that someday I wanted to have a baseball conference just for catchers.
And only a few years later after I finished my professional playing career and nearly a decade as an NCAA Division I coach did that dream become a reality.
In 2015 I, selfishly, wanted to be in the same room with the most respected catching coaches in the world so that I could pick their brains…all at the same time.
And so, CatcherCON was born.
I organized this conference so that I could learn from all of the top catching coaches in baseball, but I had no idea what it would turn into.
CatcherCON has become the event in the catching world.
Each year there are coaches from every level of baseball…youth all the way up to the MLB…sharing their love (and knowledge) about the most fun position on the baseball field.
The “Catching Brotherhood” unites each December in Nashville, TN and this will be the 8th consecutive year that CatcherCON has brought us all together.
This is unlike any event that you’ve ever been to…guaranteed!
Not only are the top catching coaches in the world there, they’re available to you. This isn’t some arena-tour where the speakers and the attendees don’t interact…it’s the exact opposite.
When you attend CatcherCON you’ll have direct access to some of the smartest guys in the game of baseball and you’ll get to meet, and speak, with them.
There truly is no other event like this.
If you love catching as much as I do (disclaimer: you probably don’t LOL) I’d love to see you at CatcherCON this December 2-4 so that we can all grow the game of baseball and the catching position.
I hope to see you there!
